RUBIS was initially active in the distribution of LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) and LPG fuel through its commercial brands, Vitogaz , Gaz’L and Vito.

LPG products are sold as bottled gas and in bulk. They are used for residential applications (cooking, heating and hot water) and by industrial companies, craftsmen (firing ovens for certain processes), farmers (drying of grains and certain fruits and greenhouse heating) and breeders (especially for poultry).

LPG fuel is an ecological, economical alternative to traditional fuels. VITOGAZ has a distribution network in service stations at hypermarkets and supermarkets.

Since the acquisition in December 2005 of SHELL’s activities in the French West Indies and French Guiana, RUBIS holds a 24% interest in the West Indian refinery and distributes its full range of petroleum products.
