We are raising awareness among our customers, diversifying our offers and taking action to promote the energy transition in all our markets, whether in Europe, Africa or the Caribbean.
Access to energy is a fundamental human right
Around a third of the world’s population still cooks over a simple fire made from wood, coal or agricultural residues. In many countries, this practice leads to significant deforestation and threatens biodiversity. Women and children bear the brunt of the health risks associated with the smoke emissions.
The WHO has defined liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) as one of the clean fuels and technologies for health at the point of use, just like electricity and solar energy. Yet 750 million people live without access to electricity, which affects their quality of life, as well as their education and employment prospects.
