OUR COMMITMENTS
SOCIETY
Committed on the ground, we work to deliver a lasting economic and social impact in the regions where we operate, making our Group a key partner in local progress.
Through our “Society” pillar, we aim to maximise our societal contribution.
Our approach is grounded in the principles of integrity and responsibility. By strengthening our legitimacy to act alongside the regions where we operate, we affirm our role as a useful and responsible player — notably by supporting access to affordable, less carbon-intensive energy and access to employment for local communities.

By supporting participants over a period of up to 18 months, this initiative helps them stabilise their personal circumstances, develop their entrepreneurial skills and put their project to a practical test. The programme benefits nearly 150 young people each year and reflects the values that have shaped our Group’s history — in particular independence, empowerment and entrepreneurial spirit.

The Vitogaz Tour in Madagascar
In Madagascar, 90% of households still cook with charcoal or firewood. This dependence on solid fuels drives large-scale deforestation, accelerates biodiversity loss and exposes women — the main users — to fumes that are harmful to their health.
To address this challenge, Madagascar is promoting LPG as an alternative to traditional fuels, in order to protect household health and preserve the country’s forests.
The “Vitogaz Tour” is part of this drive: a travelling initiative rolled out along the RN6, as close as possible to local communities. Practical demonstrations, educational exchanges and meetings in local markets help dispel misconceptions about LPG, promote its safe use and highlight its health, environmental and economic benefits.

Our Rubis Mécénat endowment fund: developing committed artistic and social projects
We created the Rubis Mécénat endowment fund in 2011 around two areas:
To support emerging contemporary creation in France through grants for artistic production.
To develop artistic and cultural education projects in selected Group countries in order to help vulnerable young people and make a lasting contribution to their training and integration.
Since 2011...
For over 15 years, Rubis Mécénat, the Rubis Group’s endowment fund, has supported contemporary creation and encouraged the transmission of artistic practices in France, Africa and the Caribbean. Its support programmes for emerging artists, mentoring schemes and artistic education projects help bring new talent to light, strengthen ties with local communities and foster both individual and collective empowerment. In the conviction that art is a powerful driver of dialogue and transformation, Rubis Mécénat works to make artistic creation accessible to as many people as possible and to support future generations.
